White powder crystal, molecular weight 135.29, density 2.91g/cm2, melting point 283 °C, boiling point 732 °C, insipid, easy deliquescence, dissovable in water, acid water solution, dissolvable in methanol, ethanol, glycerol, acetone, aether and other organic solvents containing oxygen.
Mixed with excessive water, it generates zinc hydroxide of causticity and virulence.
It may dissolve metal oxide and cellulose. Molten butter of zinc has corking conductivity.
